Activities at Fort Recovery Resort

Fort Recovery On-site Water sports

Fort Recovery has a lovely, well maintained and safe swimming pool, surrounded by large deck with sitting areas, gardens, lounge chairs and tables. Full Snorkeling equipment is available to rent, very inexpensive for resort guests', all fin sizes available. Pool equipment is available to all our guest's, one need only ask in the main reception area for assistance in getting it. Life jackets, boogie-boards, fun-noodles, floaters, rafts and sand toys are all available. We are private and exclusively for our guests. Our exclusive snorkel trip and sightseeing tour is given to all seven-night stays, and costs a mere $60 per person for guests who stay less than seven days. Boat charters can also be arranged with notice, prices vary based on group size and requested destination spots. Inquire in the main office with any questions you may have.

Fort Recovery Beach


Fort Recovery's small, private sandy beach is located on the calm, crystal blue waters of the Caribbean side of the island. You will not find large waves or undertow at this beach. The snorkeling off of the coastline is superb. If you're adventurous enough you will find a large habitat of coral and fish approximately 100yards off of the Fort Recovery Beach. Fort Recovery's swimming area remains all natural and untouched, as to preserve the aquatic life and delicate ecosystem that surrounds it. The beach is well maintained and excellent for beach combing, sand castles and tanning under a palm tree with a great book and cold drink in hand. Families have arranged treasure hunts for their kids with us in the past and found it to make for a great day on the beach! Fort Recovery also provides amazing snorkeling excursions on it's new and luxurious Sunseeker powerboat Yacht.

Sailing

The BVI is a sailing and power boating hotspot in the Caribbean. SCUBA Diving
Tortola offers some of the best SCUBA Diving excursions in the Caribbean. Everyone from a hardened SCUBA Diver to someone who is interested in taking a course will find what they're looking for here. Some of the many famous reef sites such as Cooper Island, The Indians and the renown R.M.S Rhone ship wreck (major hot spot), are just a few of the great locations to dive. Some of our guests enjoy renting their own SCUBA equipment (license required), and SCUBA diving right in front of Fort Recovery which has one of the most lush and teaming reefs on the island. Sea life is plentiful and many a story comes back from our guests spotting giant sea turtles, sting rays, amazing schools of fish, eels, barracuda, the occasional friendly small reef shark (a very passive and sought after fish for an exciting trip) and some of the most beautiful coral to be found. Fishing
Fishing in Tortola is one of the biggest sports next to Sailing. We have played host to ESPN's fishing tournament crew and contestants, right here at Fort Recovery in the past and the competition has taken place right off our island. Many of Fort Recovery have requested Fishing Trips. Guests and families often rent fishing poles, equipment and bait from numerous providers on the island nearby, and fish right off of Fort Recovery's Dock. Ian at Caribbean Fly Fishing can take you and your whole group out for an awesome day at Sea. Please inquire before your arrival if you wish to secure a fishing excursion, or do not hesitate at all to ask us to assist you in setting up one once you have arrived!
